Metamorphosis @ Your Library
Welcome to the
Teen Summer Reading Program
@ the Watsonville Public Library!
The Summer Reading Program runs from June 9th - July 19th.
The last day to turn in book reviews for raffle tickets is August 4th, 2008.
The final raffle will be held on Friday, August 8th. The time is to be announced.
The Teen Summer Reading Desk is located at the reference desk at the Freedom Branch,
and on the 2nd floor of the Main Library at the information desk right outside of the teen room.
The Teen Summer Reading Desk is open the same hours that each library is open.
This is how the program works:
There is no reading log.
Instead, you earn tickets (for the raffle) by doing different things.
You can earn tickets by:
- Writing a Book Review (for books at your own reading level)
- Doing an activity sheet (there will be a different one each week)
Once you have finished an activity sheet, or have written a book review that you would like to turn in for a ticket, take it to the appropriate desk at whichever library you choose to go to.
The person there will exchange your review or activity sheet for a one raffle ticket.
Write your full name (first and last) and your phone number on the back of the raffle ticket.
The raffle ticket will then be put into a special container where we will collect them until the raffle.
The end of summer raffle will be held on Friday, August 8th (Time To Be Announced) at the
Gene Hoularis & Waldo Rodriguez Youth Center at the end of our finale event, the Recycle Fashion Show.
The grand prizes are Ipod shuffles, and there are various other prizes as well.
You must be present to win, so mark your calendars now!
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Eva Nottage (enottage @ ci.watsonville.ca.us) at 768-3400.
