Library Cards
What is a Library Card?
Your library card is your key to full library services. Your card allows you to borrow books, videos, and other materials and take them home. It allows you easy access to the library's public computers and to your library record. On the card is your name, your library card number, and library telephone numbers.
How to Obtain a Library Card
Your first library card is free! Your library card from the Watsonville Public Library or the Freedom Branch Library may be used at both libraries. All California residents are eligible. A parent or legal guardian needs to be present to provide permission to issue a card to children in grade school up to and including the fifth grade.
To receive a library card, please present the following item(s):
Valid picture ID with printed current address, or
Valid picture ID and verification of current address (for example: current utility bill, checkbook, personal letter with postmarked envelope.)
Students in 6th - 12th grades: school ID card
To Replace a Lost Card
If you lose your library card, please report the loss to the library right away. Your card can then be blocked so that a stranger cannot make use of it. You are responsible for all materials borrowed on your card. To replace your card, the cost is $3.00 for adults 18 or over, $2.00 for young adults 12 and over, or $1.00 for children under 12 years of ages.
