California of the Past
Stories of Agriculture in the Pajaro Valley
The Agricultural History Project and the Watsonville Public Library invite you to participate in the California of the Past Digital Storytelling Project.
We are collecting stories of agricultural workers and their families for our California Agricultural Workers' History Center and as part of an online statewide project.
If your family has worked in agriculture, help us preserve history by sharing your story with our community.
Share a 3-5 minute story or personal memory about
- a place
- a family
- coming to California to work in agriculture
- daily life as a farm worker
- witnessing an historical event
- anything connected to agriculture
Your story can include
- a personal interview
- a slide show of pictures
- a video
- any combination of the above
Library staff will work with you to create and record your story on digital media. Bring photographs, letters, or other documents that you want to include. The stories will be put on the Watsonville Library website and the California State Library website. All participants will receive a DVD copy of their video.
