Watsonville Public Library maintains one homework center at the Freedom branch. The center is open 3:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday; a homework assistant staffs the center and is backed up by a reference librarian on duty at the library reference desk. Library resources, materials, computer programs, and research databases are provided. Students, K-12, attend daily on a drop-in basis to receive homework tutoring, research help, and computer access. Volunteers make a difference in helping students be successful and capable!
We need volunteers age 16 or over with Spanish, English, basic writing, computer, social studies, science, and math skills. Applicants are asked to make a scheduled commitment of 2 hours or more per week during Homework Center hours for a minimum of three months. Please pick up an application at either library or download the application from this page. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an interview, please contact Eva Nottage, Young Adult Librarian, at 768-3400.
The Homework Center is open from 3:00 - 7:00 Tuesday through Thursday.
