Library Board meetings are open to the public and members of the public are encouraged to attend. Meetings are held the third Thursday evening of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Large Conference Room of the Main Library, 275 Main St.
The Watsonville Public Library's Board of Trustees is appointed by the City Council. The Board is composed of seven members; each Council Member appoints one person from the community. Appointees must be registered to vote within the Watsonville city limits. The purpose of the Board is to provide input to the City Council, the City Manager, and the Library Director by representing the points of view from the community regarding library policies and issues affecting library users. The Board meets monthly with the Library Director to review library reports and discuss issues.
Occasionally vacancies occur on the Board. Anyone interested in becoming a Trustee should fill out the City's application. The applications are available from the Library or the City Clerk's office.
Comments and concerns regarding the Library may be brought to the Library Director or the Library Board.
